Teen Stuff @ Flint Memorial Library

Do you miss all the prizes and events that summer brought when you were a kid? Well, then you're in luck! Because this year we're having a Teen Summer Reading Program, called Teen Stuff @ Flint Memorial Library!

Beginning Monday, June 27 get your reading log and "Going Places" card in the library. Keep track of the hours that you read over the summer and your visits to the library, and you could get FREE stuff. Your hours and visits will translate into "Flint Bucks" for our Teen Auction on Thursday, August 18, 7pm. You can use your "money" to bid on prizes such as bookstore gift certificates, books, food and other cool items.

There will also be fun events throughout the summer including....a Dance Dance Revolution tournament, a "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" craft, and a teen Game & Coffee Night.

One (1) hour of reading = $100
A visit to the library (get your card punched) = $200
Read a BBYA (Best Books for YAs) book or Teens' Top Ten (TTT) book,
and write a review = $300

The Fine Print:
You can read anything you want and have it count toward your reading log. But, you need to list what you've been reading on the back of your log (this is to keep you honest - no coloring in boxes just for fun!).

Only one card punch per day - even if you visit the library ten times in a day (which would be hard to do, but possible). Just trying to be fair to everyone.

BBYA and TTT book reviews need to be at least a paragraph long. And, no, you don't have to like the book in order to write a review. You may email the review to Christi, handwrite it and turn it into the Circulation Desk, or post a comment to the Teen Blog. The final reviews may be posted on this blog.
