Uh-oh....Anime Club's next meeting date
I must admit that I made a mistake. I have told everyone who's anyone that the next Anime Club is November 14, when in actuality it is Monday, November 7 at 3pm. I think I made the mix-up when I wrote the date in the Activity Room calendar. We only have the room for the 7th.
So, please pass along the info to all your anime fan friends:

Twilight Sequel
In browsing through the internet today I learned that Stephenie Meyer, author of Twilight, has a sequel in the works. Actually there will be a Twilight trilogy! The second book, tentatively titled New Moon, should be out next year.
I, for one, can't wait!

Teen Read Week
It's Teen Read Week! This week is dedicated to *you* and what you like to read.
This year's theme is "Get Real @ Your Library". Of course, there are many ways to interpret that, but I've chosen to go the non-fiction route. No groaning, please! There are some awesome non-fiction books out there just for teens, and I have a number of them on display in the teen corner. How about Cool Stuff: Things to Make and Do by Jennifer Traig or Angry Blonde by Eminem?
And, as an added bonus, if you read Candyfreak: A journey through the chocolate underbelly of America by Steve Almond this month you'll get free candy! Just find me in the library, tell me something about the book (what you liked, what you didn't like, etc) and you'll get candy. The author, Steve Almond, will be visiting the library in the spring, so you definitely want to get your hands on this sweet read as soon as possible.
Don't forget to vote for your favorite book at Teens' Top Ten! If you're in grades 6-12 then you're eligible to vote. Voting is this week only!
One last cool Teen Read Week bonus....word has gotten out that North Reading has some awesome teens. We've been invited to join a national online chat about teens and reading! If you want to share your ideas about what gets teens reading, and what you love about reading, then go to the YA Authors' Cafe tomorrow, Tuesday, October 18, at 8:30pm to join the discussion. I'll be there as a guest panelist and I'd love to have some North Reading teens there, too!
